Movie The Social Network tells the
story of a young man from Harvard University named Mark Zukerberg, played by
Jesse Eisenberg. Mark is a smart guy in the computers and the Internet field,
he also has a girlfriend named Errica, played by Rooney Mara. Mark runs a
normal life, until by the time dinner Errica want to end the relationship with
Mark. Errica want to end the relationship with Mark because Mark is very busy
with their own activities and always spend the time with his computer. Their
relationship is end, and Mark began to forget Errica.
In the night, Mark does the usual
activities. He sat in a chair with a low light lamp, he is very busy with his
computer. On that night, Mark had the idea to create a social network website
called “Facemash”. “Facemash: is a website used for men
to rate how pretty the girls are there on campus, but after all the students
look at the website and begin to rate the girls, there was the unexpected thing
by Mark. Some of girl who their picture distributed to the "Facemash"
is very angry to what Mark did; they felt insulted, because their photo is
comparised with another girl. Mark felt so sorry for his action. Because of
this site, Mark hated by the student and received threats from their
boyfriends.
Although Mark received many threats,
it makes the university interested. Mark
continues to develop "Facemash" and helped by his friend, Eduardo
Saveriin, played by Andrew Garfield. In the moment, there are two people from
one of the elite clubs in university interested in what was created by Mark.
That two people are named Cameron Winklevoss and Tyler Winklevos, played by one
person, he is Armie Hammer. Cameron and Tyler are twin brother. They also have
a social network project, and they invite Mark to work with them. Mark agrees
with Cameron and Tyler offer, because Mark also need popular people for
developing the site. But, as Mark and the Winklevoss brother did not have compatibility,
Mark decided to end their partnership and develop the site only with Eduardo.
After he split with Winklevoss brothers, Mark and Eduardo successfully launched
their project at Harvard University, and change the name, that is
"theFacebook". Conflict between the Winklevoss and Mark continues,
they fight for their names as the creators of that social networking site.
Conflict peaked after Mark met with
Sean Parker, played by Justin Timberlake. Sean is a businessman who had built a
very successful website named “napster”, but Sean has been bankrupt. At this
time, Mark began to forget his friendship with Eduardo. Mark had not followed the
advice of Eduardo. Eduardo is also a major role in the development of
'theFacebook“ trivialized
by Mark who has been comfortable with his new partner, Sean.
Mark, with a selfish sense has been
forgotten his friendship with Eduardo. Website name was changed to
"Facebook". Eduardo even cheated by Mark, Mark also felt cheated by
Sean who has made he forgeting Eduardo. Mark angry with Sean after he know that
Sean was a drug addict. Conflict continues when the case of Mark and the
Winklevoss brother is not over.
This film ends when all the conflicts
are done. Mark re friends with Eduardo, and Eduardo served as the CFO of
Facebook. Winklevoss received 65 million dollars and signed a non-disclosure
agreement. The most interesting thing was when Mark adds Errica to his friend
list on Facebook. In the end, Mark became the youngest billionaire ever.
